Wine is usually associated with celebration, friendship and joy – three elements that we all surely hold dear to our hearts. As a tight-knit group of avid wine-lovers and more importantly, close friends, our gatherings usually consisted of appreciating our shared passion in wine and food pairings. But soon, we came to realise that not everyone has the luxury to own a wine cellar in such as land-scarce place like Singapore to store their favourite bottles of wine, especially when these bottles become more expensive or worse, out of stock. Thus, the idea of constructing a “Chateau” environment for our wine was born!

Brought to you by a humble, tight-knit group of avid wine-lovers and most importantly, friends, Our Wine Coterie aims to deliver a myriad of helpful opportunities for the consumer. Besides providing substantial, remunerative storage for wine, it also acts as a waterhole for wine-lovers to conduct and savour wine-tasting sessions with good company. These sessions promise to impart significant wine knowledge, imbue warmth amidst the good company and enrich your appreciation for wine.
As Ernest Hemingway himself once put it, “wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and once of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly any other purely sensory thing.” It is precisely this enjoyment and appreciation for wine that birthed the genesis of Our Wine Coterie.
Not only does the acronym OWC stand for Our Wine Coterie, it is also the long-standing term for “Original Wooden Case”, which is typically used during wine auctions and sales. Many high quality wines that are associated with bottle aging are usually sent out from the winery in wooden case boxes. These wooden case boxes play a huge role in ensuring these wines stay intact, as many collectors consider an unopened wooden case to be more valuable since they’ve not been tampered with since they left the winery. At Our Wine Coterie, we aim to do exactly that, so rest assured that your bottles of wine will be in good hands.
The motivations behind the concept are extremely simple – through our shared passion of wine and food pairings, we soon came to realize that not everybody has the luxury to own a wine cellar in such a land-scarce place like Singapore. This becomes a hindrance when we are not able to store our favorite bottles of wine, especially when such bottles become more expensive or even out of stock. Thus, this fueled our determination in constructing a “Chateau” environment for wine bottles and wine-lovers everywhere!
The said “Chateau” environment has been carefully contrived and put together to achieve the ideal environment for wine to age slowly and gracefully. In a nutshell, there are four key aspects that we have perfected for the epitome of a wine storage – climate, lighting, movement and security. To allow the wines to burgeon at an optimum rate, temperatures will be kept between 12.5 to 15 ° C. Higher temperatures would age wine prematurely; devaluing and shortening their lifespan. We will also use low intensity lighting to bestow the greatest degree of protection. Our storage zone is divided into short term and long term units, and movement is limited to private access only. Furthermore, our facilities are equipped with CCTVs at every storage lane; with each locker secured by an individual padlock and key. These conditions are monitored 24 hours a day, ensuring maximum security.
The amenities and opportunities one can enjoy at Our Wine Coterie are truly boundless, as there is definitely something that everyone can take away from the experience.e promise to make your acquaintance and consumer experience worthwhile!
